I have had a rash of false starts again. The keenness and spirt has been there but I have struggled to make progress due to the ‘photographs’ I use. I had false lack of material: which is now being rectified.
I use photographs that I have taken as they are all a part of my life’s journey and how I see, encounter and interact with the world. The text accompanying a photograph often tries to enhance the connotation I see in the photograph.
Since July 2016 I have had to many curved balls thrown at me that have either diverted my attention or tripped me up but not derailed me: so I stop a number of activities as time for me just became very short.
In July 2017 I made a critical decision to keep actively taking photographs to maintain my involvement with the environ and postpone the underpinning photographic requirements as I did not have the time to curate my work.
The net result, five years later, is: I have 70,000 mixed photographs filed in date order only with criptic notes about location etc. (I should add it’s not just this site where I use these photographs!)
I have spent the last six weeks, at about 40 hours a week, sorting them, grouping and regrouping them, grading them and doing minimal retouching on them so I could use them here and elsewhere.
Lightroom has excelled it’s self and now I have a very good usable collection of photographs ready to use.
There are still many more photographs waiting to be curated and find their way online here and elsewhere.
I am looking forward to pushing on with adding photographs and stories here.
