Lewes in East Sussex is a very independent town, and has been so for a long time – and long may it continue – think fireworks, effigies

This is an old photograph, but I expect/hope it still has its own recognised currency. There are conditions of use but the spirit is important.

I think it could be the answer elsewhere: I also think bartering and skills trading will raise its head again – you cut my grass and I’ll write you a blog post. (I can hope.)
