Tower Bridge – London

An imposing building with history that never fails to excite me

It must be the love for engineering inside me that draws my attention. I can’t stop myself from asking … well, how does that work … why does that happen.

Our environment is blistered with good engineering. Separate engineering from architecture: Architecture concerns its self with the elegance of appearance in context of setting. While engineering concerns its self with how the elements within the architecture physically withstand gravity and the natural elements or how the mechanical and electrical equipment operate efficiently and safely.

Think of it this way: Architecture cannot exist without engineering but engineering can exist without architecture. Importantly both exist well together and, for me at least, engineering design can have beauty through the minimal application of science to achieve an appropriate solution along with simplicity of form.
