Jubilee Library – Brighton

Been here many times. This library is, to me, a pleasant place that provides sanctuary for many people with diverse interests

It happens to be four months since my intense use of the library for my studies, but walking back inside was still rewarding, particularly as I was not under pressure.

I had expected there to be less people as it was just four months into a new academic year and only just after Christmas. No, no every desk, every space, every plug hole was taken. The dedicated quite area was full. All the small personal spaces were taken. All the casual stop and writing places were gone.

I waited downstairs and pondered what to do next. At this moment I spied a different view of the underside of the 1st floor. It had graded light, strip shadows. Metal, timber, concrete and glass: what else could I want 🙂
